Some of you
may be thinking, "Why the heck is it called 'Hero' instead of Ninja'?". Well,
it seems that Germany thought that the word ninja carried
a violent connotation. Whereas, heroes killing
living creatures is totally acceptable. It seems that all
but Italy thought the same way. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartridge
was released in Italy the same time the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles cartridge
was released. I'll provide the Italian version(s) whenever
I get my sweaty little hands on them. I was thinking that this was sort of a lame
release and I was feeling particularly bored since I no longer have
a job. So, I decided to hack around the NTSC and PAL versions
a little bit and make you guys some Game Genie goodies.
All Characters in Story Mode. Yes, this NTSC code is currently available on the internet. Keep pressing right, they're all there. I swear.
AAOAYXXG - Hothead vs. Hothead Enabled. The forbidden fight... Ooooohh.... I'm not sure why Konami didn't allow Hothead vs. Hothead other than he's the biggest character in the game and his sprite flickers. This is one of those codes that should be enabled at all times so you get the full effect of the game. If you are using an emulator (and you most likely are) FCE Ultra and some other emulators have an option to allow more than 8 sprites on the screen at the same time. FCE Ultra's option is under Config/Miscellaneous. Enable that and there should be no reason why Hothead can't fight against Hothead. In conclusion, Teenage Mutant Whatever Turtles: Tournament Fighters for the NES is the best standard fighting game made for the NES. That is not saying much. Thanks go out to Ace of Simplynes for loaning me the cart and kev for making that wonderful dumpermajigger. |
